A Year-End Message from Our Chairman: Celebrating a Joyous Christmas Season!
Updated: Oct 6
What a wonderful Christmas season of concerts we have had at Mendip Male Voice Choir! We have not only delighted audiences with a varied and entertaining repertoire, but with your support, our performances have also helped raise funds for numerous worthy causes. For this, we sincerely thank you!
Our Impact on the Community
The organisations benefitting from our concerts include the church funds of St Mary’s Timsbury, Henton Christ Church, and St John the Baptist in Chilcompton. Additionally, we have supported Children’s Hospice South West and Prostate Cancer UK. It is particularly special at Christmas to know that our concerts have benefited so many.

A Memorable Finale
Our season culminated with our final concert at the Church of St John the Baptist in Midsomer Norton on Saturday 20th December. A sell-out audience enjoyed a wonderful evening that included Christmas readings by local actor Emily Pennant Rea. There was also audience participation in an amusing adaptation of The 12 Days of Christmas. The Choir showcased its talent with pieces that truly highlighted our abilities.
None of this would have been possible without the exceptional skills of our pianist, Dominic Irving. Of course, we owe a great deal to the inspirational leadership of Kate Courage, our Musical Director. She even composed a completely new piece for the Choir this year!

Looking Ahead
We are now enjoying a well-earned break. After this, we will start rehearsals again on January 5th, with our programme of concerts for spring and summer 2026 already planned.
