Here is Mendip Male Voice Choir's performance of 'Shining' - a piece written by the choir's fourth MD, Kate Courage, to raise money for Children's Hospice South West.

Your purchase of this piece from BaBa Productions for your choir will directly help raise money for this chosen charity from a proportion of the royalties, thanks to the composer's generosity.

The lyrics of the piece are written from the child's perspective and, most imaginatively and remarkably, it is the child who offers guidance, love, encouragement and solace to the parent.

​

The words are very poignant with many glowing images of light as the title suggests and the performance of the piece arouses strong emotions both in the choir and in the audience.

​

In 2017, following an acclaimed performance in Wells Cathedral, which raised thousands of pounds for CHSW, 'Shining' merited a much wider audience, becoming a nationwide anthem for Children's Hospices.

​

The arrangements are available in SAB, TTB, and SSA versions, all compatible with each other, making it a worthy joint item to be sung in concerts with other choirs joining forces.
